Greeting from the Minister

This November, as we gather in Brazil for the COP30 climate conference, Finland is preparing to present its very best of private sector to join in making a difference. It is not only negotiators and governments convening at the UN climate meeting. We want to provide a platform for all the players that together can create a lasting impact.

The private sector plays a vital role in reaching climate targets. In Finland, businesses are at the forefront of delivering sustainable solutions. For them, challenges are opportunities, and problems become a source of innovation. Governments, for their part, need to create the right conditions, with a continuous dialogue ensuring that all voices are heard.

In Belém, we will be proudly showcasing the offering of Finland’s private sector to the world. At the Finnish Pavilion, our companies are eager to engage with global partners and present concrete solutions and groundbreaking innovations. NGOs, academia, government ministries and international stakeholders will join the conversation.

One important topic will be circularity, in which Finnish companies are at the forefront. This year, Brazil hosted the World Circular Economy Forum, the Finnish Innovation Fund’s flagship event. Next year, the forum is headed to India. Previously, it has taken place in Africa, Europe, Asia, and North America. Circularity is being embraced globally, as the new normal.

At Finland’s Pavilion in Belém, we look forward to coming together with our partners, for a dialogue of fresh ideas. We want to work together with you, to help build a solid foundation for a sustainable future.

We warmly welcome you, and we look forward to your contribution.

Ville Tavio
Minister for Foreign Trade and Development of Finland
