Cornerstones of energy future
Date & Time
Monday, September 29, 2025, from 15:00 to 17:00
Description
Climate change mitigation requires major shifts in global energy and material flows. Existing visions often fall short in accounting for intersectoral dependencies, international market developments, and resource sufficiency. To address this gap, the new project “Cornerstones of energy future ” aims to define the opportunity spaces for Finland’s climate and energy future for 2030 and 2040.
The project is independently run and guided by a steering group consisting of Climate Leadership Coalition, Sitra, University of Helsinki / ACCC, and Mika Anttonen and Ville Voipio.
This kick-off event invites stakeholders to hear about the project’s progress and discuss key considerations for its implementation.
Program Highlights:
- Opening Remarks: “What problem are we solving and how?” by Ville Voipio, Professor of Practice and Chairman of the Board at Vaisala
- Why the Cornerstones of Energy Future Matter: Markku Kulmala, Academician and Director of the ACCC Flagship, University of Helsinki
- Discussion and Q&A
- Panel Discussion: Featuring four top energy researchers and experts (names to be announced closer to the event)
