Launch event: Climate Investment Framework for cities
Starting in May 2024 Climate Leadership Coalition and City of Espoo have joined forces in the Espoo Climate Community (COMET) project. In this project we have developed a Climate Investment Framework to help cities attract critical clean investments from the private sector. This is the launch event for the framework.
The event will bring together businesses and city actors to tackle key barriers and opportunities for clean private investments in European cities. Cities are the backbone of the European economy, and fostering an attractive innovation ecosystem in leading European cities is what drives competitiveness while enabling an EU-wide green transition.
We are proud to present the Mayor of Espoo, former Minister of Climate Change and Environment for Finland, Mr. Kai Mykkänen and Deputy Director of DG ENVI, Mr Patrick Child, Minister of Local and Regional Governance for Finland, Ms Anna-Kaisa Ikonen and Vice-President, European Committee of the Regions, Mr Markku Markkula, as speakers in our event. The speaker lineup will also feature representatives from financial institutions and companies.
At the event, we will launch Climate Investment Framework for European cities, developed with the EU Mission City of Espoo. This framework, funded by the NetZeroCities initiative, aims to help cities attract clean private investments by identifying and removing barriers to their climate goals.
