Nordic roundtable on high-integrity carbon markets (Helsinki)
Nefco - the Nordic Green Bank and the Climate Leadership Coalition invite you to join a roundtable on high‑integrity international carbon markets. The event is part of a roundtable event series hosted across Nordic capitals.
Each roundtable brings together a carefully selected group of business leaders, policymakers and carbon market experts to explore Nordic opportunities in market‑based climate cooperation.
What to expect
Participants will gain a clear and up‑to‑date understanding of:
- where international carbon market cooperation currently stands
- what this means in practice for Nordic businesses and other actors
- the key business opportunities for companies
Through national perspectives, expert insights and peer exchange, the discussion aims to build a shared and practical understanding of opportunities, risks and key considerations related to market‑based climate cooperation.
Key discussion themes
- How carbon markets aligned with Article 6 of the Paris Agreement fit within the EU’s overall climate framework, and their relevance for meeting EU, Nordic and corporate climate targets
- Business opportunities for Nordic actors in international carbon markets
- How Nordic actors can promote high standards, transparency and trust in international carbon markets and cooperation under Article 6
Consultations on carbon market cooperation
The roundtables form a core part of a broader stakeholder dialogue on Nordic collaboration in high‑integrity carbon market cooperation.
