This meeting is for CLC Sustainable forestry theme group members.
With the assistance of Sustainable Forestry group we’ll prepare CLC’s statement on the EU bioeconomy strategy consultation. This is a so-called public consultation that will guide the preparation of the upcoming strategy. A draft version of CLC’s statement will be sent to group members the week before the meeting. Deadline for statement is 23rd June.

The sustainable forestry group improves the understanding of the multidimensional value of forests — related to the bio- economy, carbon sequestration, and biodiversity. It aims to develop a holistic vision for the forest sector’s role in climate mitigation on top of the position paper on land use and nature-based removals published in 2023.
