The following statement was submitted to the Finnish Parliament's Grand Committee on 9 September 2026 regarding the EU's Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) for 2028–2034 and Finland's positions on the matter.
The statement presents Climate Leadership Coalition's views on the role of the future MFF in supporting decarbonisation, electrification and climate resilience as part of strengthening Europe's competitiveness and security, arguing that Europe's climate, security and competitiveness challenges are closely interlinked and that decarbonisation should not be seen as a separate "green add-on" but as the foundation for a secure and competitive economy. It also calls for CBAM and ETS revenues to be directed toward industrial decarbonisation.
