Climate Leadership Coalition welcomes ING Bank as a new member

Climate Leadership Coalition (CLC) is proud to announce ING Bank as its newest organizational member. ING Bank, a leading European financial institution, employs over 60,000 professionals and serves more than 38 million customers, corporate clients, and financial institutions across more than 40 countries in Europe, the Americas, and the Asia-Pacific region.

Sustainability is at the heart of ING Bank’s strategy. The bank is committed to combating climate change by financing and facilitating the transition to a low-carbon future. It is also a pioneer in developing innovative financial solutions to support the global shift to a sustainable economy.

“The urgency of climate change is undeniable, and ING has a role to play in helping to fight it. As a bank, we do this through financing: working with clients to help drive down their carbon emissions while also helping them build up the technologies needed for a sustainable future. Accelerating the transition demands systems-level solutions. Together with our partners we advocate for the change that needs to happen, and we want to collaborate with all those who have a role to play in contributing to solutions and accelerating progress. Our membership of CLC gives substance to that goal,” says ING member of the Management Board Banking and head of Wholesale Banking Andrew Bester.

“We warmly welcome ING Bank to CLC’s network. The green transition demands significant investments, and the finance sector plays a pivotal role in driving this change,” says Sari Baldauf, Chair of the CLC Board. “ING Bank strengthens CLC’s position as an impactful European climate network and enhances our ability to support EU and global decision-makers in accelerating the green transition.”

As Europe’s largest non-profit climate-business network, CLC represents member organizations that collectively employ approximately a million people worldwide. CLC’s members believe that transitioning society towards a sustainable economy and consumption habits is not only possible but also economically viable.
