Climate Leadership Coalition provided an expert opinion to the Finnish Government's report on industrial policy (VNS 1/2025 vp). In our statement we emphasize the necessity of this policy amidst global economic turbulence, geopolitical tensions, and the urgent need to address climate change.
We support the report's identification of key issues and objectives, particularly the development of an environment that attracts production and R&D investments. We stress the importance of integrating industrial policy with climate and energy policies to drive global emission reductions and advocate for demand-driven policies to accelerate industrial renewal. Additionally, CLC highlights the need for sufficient resources for implementation and emphasizes the potential of carbon removal technologies and green steel to enhance Finland's attractiveness for low-carbon investments.
