Finland is building its own country pavilion for the UN COP31 climate conference, which will take place from 9 to 20 November 2026 in Antalya, Turkey. The pavilion will offer Finnish companies, cities and research institutions a prominent international forum where they can present their climate solutions, share their expertise and build new partnerships.
The Finland pavilion is implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of the Environment, Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Climate Leadership Coalition, Confederation of Finnish Industries, Finland Chamber of Commerce, Technology Industries of Finland, Global Compact Finland and Miltton. The annual climate conference is not only the most important UN decision making forum for climate policy but also the world’s largest climate event that brings together representatives of governments, companies, cities, research institutions and civil society.
The aim of the country pavilion is to highlight Finland’s strengths as a developer of climate solutions, showcase new ways to advance climate goals and open doors for cooperation with international partners. At last year’s COP30 climate conference, the growing role of companies, financiers and other stakeholders in climate action became even more evident. The Finland pavilion served as a meeting place where policy, business, research and innovation came together to form concrete solutions.
“The Finland pavilion at the climate conference in Brazil was a significant success and we received plenty of positive feedback from both participants and visitors. We are now further deepening the cooperation between the ministries and pavilion partners to maximise the impact,”
says Minister of the Environment and Climate Sari Multala, who will lead Finland’s official delegation at the conference.
“At COP30 the Finland pavilion brought together a broad group of partners from industry, network solutions, research and urban development. The experience strengthened the position of Finnish companies and other actors as credible and solution-oriented participants in the global climate discussion,”
says Climate Leadership Coalition CEO Tuuli Kaskinen.
The COP31 presidency will be shared between Turkey and Australia. Australia will chair the negotiations, but the conference will take place in Turkey. The conference is expected to focus more strongly on implementation of climate targets, financing, and scaling up solutions.
Partner search opens in March
The partner search for the Finland pavilion at COP31 will open in March 2026. The aim is to attract ambitious actors who want to showcase Finnish solutions for climate mitigation, adaptation and advancing a sustainable and competitive transition.
In addition to business sector organisations, the project steering group includes the Ministry of the Environment, Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, the Embassy of Finland in Ankara and Business Finland. Miltton is responsible for carrying out the pavilion and the project is funded through partner financing.
The goal is to bring together an influential delegation and enable a more impactful presence for as many Finnish organisations as possible at international climate forums.
